My Story

I’ve always enjoyed writing, but for many years I had little free time with two small daughters to raise and a full-time career as a computer analyst. After my retirement, I found joy in becoming involved in my local church: teaching Sunday School, writing Christmas plays, and helping to direct them. Then the story ideas started coming! As the youngest of six siblings, I have fond memories of the time we spent with our cousins on my grandparents’ farm, which formed the setting for my first book. When my grandchildren came along, the cute things they said and did gave me story ideas as well, and I would read my stories to them when they came to visit. So many story ideas came from my husband, children, and grandchildren that I consider the Farmwell Valley series a family project. I felt as if the Lord were guiding me to write the Farmwell Valley series, and I hope it is a blessing to my readers.

Personal Life

My husband and I have lived in a small rural community in West Virginia near the Ohio River for almost 30 years. My house is surrounded by hayfields, and my kitchen window overlooks a small pond frequented by waterfowl and turtles and encircled by cattails that sway in the wind. I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, and writing. I try to live by the scripture Colossians 3:23-24 NKJV: And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

"Where faith abides, hope flourishes."
